My crazy life!

I just wanted to let you know that I have been so incredibly busy lately. I don't know where the last few months of my life have disappeared to, but after looking at some pictures I remembered a few of the projects that I have gotten myself into.

First of all, I bought Christmas lights for our house a couple of years ago and we've never put them up, so I was determined to hang them this year. Jason wasn't too excited about the idea so I set out by myself(Henry in tow) to hang these stinking things. They really aren't hard, but it was hard to measure the exact length and get them perfect, but after a few trips to the store to get some extra supplies we were done. Jason was surprised and proud that I got as much done by myself as I did, although I could NOT get up on the very top level by myself so I had a boost from him and then he had to literally catch me after I was done. It was a good thing that he wasn't mad at me at the time, jks! Anyway, I think that they look pretty darn good if I may say so. Next year it should be a lot easier because we know where they all go now.


We were able to go out to dinner for Melissas birthday for our Relief Society Presidency Meeting! It was a lot of fun. Ann just got put into the Stake RS Presidency so we are going to miss her tons. She is so sweet and such a great friend! These ladies are so wonderful and great to work with. I am one lucky girl!

For our Super Saturday Enrichment we made these cute aprons, although because I was incharge of the activity I didn't get any of it done their and had to finish it on my own at home, but yeah, I did it!

We put together a book of Memories for my Grandma for Christmas and I was incharge of heading it up. Lucky me! It turned out really cute and she loved it.

In this picture you can see some cute hair bows on Katelyn and Morgan, well I made between 10 to 20 of these and have more to still make. I gave them to a few nieces for Christmas. I now need to make some for my girls(thats right I gave these ones away that they are wearing because I ran out of time to make more). Another Super Saturday activity was these cute reversible capes for the kids, so I chose to make some for my kids and birthday presents as well. The girl ones were Princess/Supergirl, the boys were Batman/Superman. They all really liked them, Morgans hung down to her feet but she wanted to wear it everywhere. I made a total of 8. Crazy I know! They were easier after you got the hang of it. It's just trying to find the time to do all of this stuff.

Many of you know that I make decorative wetwipe containers. Here is a few of the ones that I have made. I am constantly making these for baby gifts. They are fun to give as gifts. I have a ton of other colors that I also make. If you ever want to buy one then just give me a call!

We draw names for Christmas in my family and I had my brothers name so I decided to make a John Deer apron to go along with his gift. He loved it and I think that it will look a lot better on him than it does on me.

Last night we were able to go out to dinner with a few friends from Law School. They live in Latvia and Colorado, so we don't get to see them too often. We had a great time reminising and catching up! Thanks Busbys and Allreds for a great time!

So as you can see we have been pretty busy lately. I love that my kids will go to bed at a decent hour so that I am able to do my projects without interruptions(most of the time). I have many more lined up for the new year.

The Polar Express!

December 11th

I've always wanted to take the kids on this and since Henry is super into trains right now, we thought that it was a great year to try it. We went on it with my two sisters Tanya and Brianne and their families, and also my wonderful Grandfather!

We had a really good time and the kids all loved it. They also got cookies and hot chocolate along the way. Henry couldn't believe that we were actually on a train like Thomas!

The evening got even better after the train ride was over. Us girls took Grandpa out to dinner and visited for a few hours. It was so nice to just sit back and relax. My Grandpa seems to be doing so good, despite my Grandpa passing a couple months ago. He is one special guy!

Festival of Trees!

December 4th

The last few years Katelyns dance group has gotten to perform at the 'Festival of Trees.' This year she is doing Cheer/Tumbling and so we got to see them do a little cheer. Those of us that saw it thought she did a great job. Jason on the other hand was driving around the parking lot for 1/2 an hour looking for parking and missed her whole routine :(

We love walking around and checking out all the beautifully decorated Christmas trees and gingerbread houses, and of course you have to get the scones, yummy!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We just stayed here for Thanksgiving this year and went to Jasons moms house for a big Turkey dinner! We took the kids to the movie 'Planet 51.'

Jason took the WHOLE weekend off(hard to believe, I know) so we got a few things done and put up Christmas decorations. It was a fun and relaxing weekend.

Katelyns kindergarten class got to make their own Indian costumes for their Thanksgiving feast. She was so excited about her little outfit. This is her Indian baby in a papoose!
Morgan and I got to go to Henrys preschool feast and program. It was cute to watch the kids sing their little songs. Henry decided to join his class after the songs were over, little turkey!

Provo Halloween 1/2 Marathon!

I know that I am really slow at posting, but hey, it's getting done now, so that is all that counts!

Well you read it right, another 1/2 Marathon. My sister Brianne finally got the urge to want to train for one of these and she told me that I had to do it with her. I found this Provo one that seemed a bit easier because it had quite a bit of down hill(ouch though). It had been getting colder out which made it not so fun to wake up early and run, but being the good sister that I am, I said that I would do it with her. I needed to have someone to run with so that I would get out of bed in the mornings, so I got my friend Melissa to run it as well(she had done the last two races with me as well).

We stayed at my brother Jesses house the night before and got up early to head to the start line, which was about 24 degrees. I was literaly shaking because I was sooo cold. This was probably the best race so far because of the terrain, but that made it also the worst to recover from. The downhill kills your quads after, and for at least 3-4 days I could hardly go up/down stairs, let alone walk. It was bad.

As we were running we would see spider man/brides/ladybugs/ etc, it was great to see runners dressed up, next time we will be creative and do something fun!

Brianne told me that she wouldn't have been able to do the race if it hadn't been for me pushing her, although I didn't feel like I was at all, but for once it felt good to be the pusher, because I always needed my friends to push me along. So if you ever want to do a race, then find a friend and you can help one another, because it makes it so much more fun and enjoyable. It was a great experience to run with my sister and to cross that finish line hand in hand(I grabbed her hand and said we are finishing this thing together). It was a lot of fun! If anyone wants to do one in the spring and will be in Utah then lets do it!!!

Happy Halloween!

I look forward to the fall all year because we absolutely love doing this together as a family. We have a tradition like many others to go pumpkin picking. We have a cute one near us that has a hay maze for the kids to run through, it is cute to watch them.

This is NOT my favorite activity so I tried to make Jason do as much as possible, although I did have to do two pumpkins this year.

My sisters family spent Halloween with us and I made them some yummy Halloween shaped noodles. I think that I was more excited then the kids were.

Grandma Folsoms Funeral!

My dear sweet Grandma passed away on October 17, 2009 in American Fork, UT.

She was the best woman ever, and would give the shirt off her back for anyone. She was the best wife to my Grandpa, the best mother to my father, and the best Grandma to her grandkids. She was everyones best friend!
In a previous post I explained that my Grandma has had lung cancer for the past two years! She has been off and on with her treatments and so we have been able to spend a lot of time with her and go down to Utah Co. to visit. I was able to grow up in the same little town in Canada with her and it was so wonderful to have all my grandparents live so close and be able to spend so much time with them, yes I felt spoiled. It was very hard to see my Grandma get so sick near the end. We all loved her so much and were just praying to let her go because she didn't deserve to be in pain. It was so amazing to spend some time with all my family(Grandpa, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, etc.) before and after the funeral. What a wonderful bonding experience. I'm so glad to have been able to say goodbye to her before she passed away(or rather, see ya later). I have never felt the spirit so strong as when she was lying there in her last few minutes. What a wonderful feeling! We will miss her tons!
They had the funeral for Grandma in Utah Co. because all our family was able to make it down here and she is from Payson, UT so her siblings were all down here. But they did the burial and another little service up in Canada and I really felt like I needed to be there so Jason wanted to stay home with Henry and Morgan(didn't sound like fun hauling them 12hrs in a car and then back 12hrs a couple days later) for the weekend and he let Katelyn and I go up with my brother and his wife. Katelyn was soooo excited to go up to Canada for a girls trip. She got to see Grandpas cows and ride on the 4-wheelers, hot tubing, and stay up really late. She had a lot of fun.

I know it has been forever since I've updated my blog. We have been so incredibly busy with tons of things going on.

To start out, we have been busy with the first part of the soccer season for the kids. Henry started playing in the tiny tots league. He looks very cute and innocent in this picture, but he is fooling you because he wasn't not so happy to be out on the soccer field. He plays great at home and then you put him on a big field and fear overcomes the little guy. He did actually kick/touch the ball a couple times throughout the season though! What a milestone it was! Now that he has started preschool and doing more, maybe he will be a little less scared in the spring when they start up again. It was fun to watch him try!

He gets to play with some of his friends from the neighborhood so that is nice for him to know his teammates. What a crazy bunch of hooligans!
Henry got to go to the 'firestation' for a preschool field trip. He loves firetrucks but was a bit taken back with the big one he got to see. He loved it though!

Morgan likes to go on field trips too! She is one of the big kids now!
