Field Trips!

We decided since it was the end of the school year that we'd take Morgans little preschool class on a few field trips. The first was to 'Mrs. Cavanaughs Chocolate Factory!' It is so close to us so we couldn't pass up a trip to get a taste of free chocolate.

Here the kids are watching a lady dipping chocolate. They all got a little piece of chocolate at the end and were so cute to watch as they had listened to the lady telling them about making chocolate(well the kind of listened).

The next week we went to the 'Fire Station!' Henry didn't have preschool so he got to join us on this one. The kids loved checking out the fire truck and all its cool gadgets and they even got to sit inside and pretend to drive it. Pretty cool eh? (Thanks for the pictures Heidi) I forgot my camera!

Morgan has loved being a big girl and going to school once every week, next year she'll get to go to Ms. Amys like both Katelyn and Henry did. She is excited and will love it.

Law Day 5K Run!

Since Jason has been so crazy about running lately, he decided to drag the whole family as well as his brother and his kids, and his parents into it as well. His firm was paying for everyone and we all got free shirts with their logo on it. So why not, I thought, until I found out that we had to be there by 7:30am. Yeah with a new baby and being up all night, I wasn't too excited about that. Jason kept telling me that it was going to be worth it, and well he was right(don't tell him I said that).

We all had a great time and we ALL finished! Nancy stayed at the finish line with Haven because she had eye surgery and wasn't supposed to be running. We all took off at the beginning, with two strollers and all it was a mad house. Henry and Dawson were booking it and didn't last too long before they wanted to jump in the stroller. Slackers. Katelyn did GREAT, and finished the whole thing on her very own two feet. It was great running along and taking turns being beside different family members. We had a fun time working up a sweat. Jason said that he wants to make this a yearly ritual for the Hull family.

Morgan looks pretty tired from sitting in the stroller the whole time(or is it me that looks tired and red from pushing the stoller that Morgan was sitting in?). Jason and Trevor and the kids running their little hearts out!

Henrys Birthday!

Everyone loves birthdays, especially if it is your birthday! Well, Henry was no exception and was so very excited to be five. He keeps telling Morgan she can't do certain things because she isn't 5 years old.
As you can tell from his cute little face, he was VERY excited about this day! I really can't believe that 5 years ago we welcomed this adorable little boy into our lives. We were so excited and ready for the adventure to come. Or so we thought. Henry made sure that we didn't forget to let him have his turn with the special plate.

I was reading a friends blog and they have a little boy the exact same age as Henry and on his birthday she wrote a few things and it TOTALLY sounded just like Henry, so I'm going to save myself a few minutes and just copy a few things from it. It was great.

Henry:

He is a kind little soul. Henry has been going through a little bit of an angry stage, but underneath that façade is a sweet kind little soul. He stops what he’s doing to give me a hug when I need it. If one of his sisters is sad or hurt in the blink of an eye he has ran upstairs and fetched whatever little thing he thinks might make them feel better. He is sweet as can be to Morgan and especially Haven (when he isn’t pestering them).

I love Henrys mind. It is curious and observant and absorbs all kinds of information. He wants to know everything about the world, like how everything works.

Henry has a good soul. He has his days and moments where he whines and yells and pushes and shoves. He has the most wicked mad face you’ve ever seen. But, once he’s been to time out, he usually gives me the biggest hug and tells me that he is 'Very Sorry!' He has wisdom in that deep soul of his and he has all the right desires to be good.
We’re all so grateful that he’s a part of our lives.

Now on the other hand, I haven't really given Henry a big party before so I asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday and he chose to take a few friends and head to 'Jungle Jims Playland!' If you haven't been there you really should go, it's great and the kids absolutely loved it and had a blast. All the kids ran around taking turns going on all the amusement rides and playing arcade games. It was great! He picked out a Buzz and Woody(Toy Story) cake and we ate pizza. I got lots of pictures of everyone having a great time.

Rainy May!

I was upstairs and kept on calling Morgans name and she wouldn't answer so I came downstairs, the patio door was open and it was raining outside, but this is what I found outside.

I had been going through some of the girls clothes and Morgan found this size 10 swim suit that is too big for Katelyn and put it on and then she disappeared. She found an Infant sunhat, her raincoat and boots, an inside out too small skirt, and decided to play out in the rain. Wow, kids will do anything! I always miss the opportunity to take pictures of these funny moments so I quickly grabbed the camera and captured my little stinker. She was so happy to tell me what she had been doing, it was way cute. Oh, the swim suit was just a little too big for her, the crotch hung down past her knees! My fashionista!

Soccer Season!

What a crazy and busy time of year it has been! The kids have been playing soccer and tball and are now almost done with soccer.

Katelyn loves playing soccer and is such a speedy girl on the field. She loves playing with her friends and scoring goals. She also loves having her dad be the coach and Jason has enjoyed it too. Here is Katelyn scoring her last goal of the season! You go Girl!
Now Henry on the other hand. What a character he is! We never ever know what to expect from this little boy. He says that he loves soccer and wants to play, but then he doesn't do too much on the field. He really has improved though and will go after the ball, unlike last year.

Jasons Half Marathon!

My husband has been insane lately! He has been going to the gym and running like crazy! Once he gets his mind set on something, no one can stop him! He signed up to do the Ragnar race with some other guys in the area and then decided that he wanted to start with a Half first. He ran a couple of miles with me before I got pregnant and decided it wasn't for him, but somehow he found his rythym and is enjoying the results. He has now lost over 40lbs since last June and is continuing to drop them.

The other day someone at work told him that he needed to get some new clothes because his were way too big for him now. He is always hiking his pants up and won't let me buy him any clothes because he plans on losing more weight. So if you see his pants start to fall down then you'll have to give him a hard time =) Jason on his last stretch to the finish line! He probably chose one of the worst Half Marathons in Utah to do. It was quite hilly and pretty chilly(with a little snow on the ground at the start). He did really well and completed his first big race, congrats! I brought all the kids to cheer their daddy on, we happened to get their just in time to see Nate finish and then waited for both Brianne and Jason.

They had a kids fun run(1 MILE) so I did it with Katelyn and Henry. Henry and I got left near the beginning. Katelyn went on with her cousins. As Henry and I were running he said 'I'm just too slow,' it was so cute. He was trying so hard, so I told him that we could walk and he liked that. We walked through the petting zoo and he checked out all the animals, then we ran again.

Since this 1 Mile run, I've decided that I need to get back into shape and I've tried to run at least 3 miles, 3 X a week. It has been so hard because I've been getting up in the middle of the night with the baby and am so tired all the time.

Talent Show!

What a great night we had! I was so excited for our ward to finally have a talent show. We have now been in the ward for 4 years and this is the first talent show they've had. I love having funny little skits. This was called 'Primarys Got Talent' and since I am a primary teacher I got a few other teachers to join me in a little skit. We were called 'The out of towners' and we looked like little people with huge heads. We did a little dance and shook our knees(looked like the butt though) and got a lot of laughs, especially when the stuffing fell out of us. It was great. Katelyn had a dance performance the next day that she was going to miss, so she wanted to perform the dance that they had been working on. There are like 12 girls in her class so it was hard to do it with just the two of them, but they did great and tried their hardest.

Jason and Henry did a little skit called 'Stretchy Henry.' It was hilarious and I couldn't believe at how well Henry did. They only practiced a couple times and he was goofing off both times, but he did great and everyone loved it. Great view Jason!

Jasons legs were made to look like Henrys and they did some stretchys that were impossible if they were actually Henrys real legs. Henry would count as he held onto one leg, and then do it with the other. It was cute!

Our bishopric is great and they were also wonderful sports to allow this to happen to them. They were pretty much the ice cream and let the kids decorate them like an ice cream sunday. You name it, they got it dumped or stuck to them. Jason grabbed a caramel bottle and poured it on their heads and it got stuck in their ears, it was disgusting. I'm just glad that I didn't have to clean it off of me. Yucky!

Easter!

The kids were so excited to see what the Easter Bunny had brought them. I thought that it was Christmas because they were so excited. I tried not to do too much because I really want the kids to understand the true meaning of Easter and why we celebrate it. So don't worry, we did talk about it. Actually we asked the kids why we celebrate Easter and Henrys response was 'For Carters(his friend) moms Birthday.' She is his primary teacher and had just had a birthday, it was cute. We did correct him, sorry Becky it isn't all about you! I had gotten little skateboards after Thanksgiving and forgot about them, so this was a good opportunity to give them to the kids, then they each got a movie and a few other goodies.

Henry and Morgan got to go to a little neighborhood Easter egg hunt while Katelyn was still at school. Henry wasn't too happy when I told him he could only have 10 eggs, which explains the look on his face. Grumpy gus!

The kids were sooo excited to decorate eggs, they were very into it and wouldn't even stop to look at the camera. I wanted to go and roll them down a hill because we always used to do that growing up, but Jason ended up using them for deviled eggs. The kids were pretty mad at him, but they all Love deviled eggs so it didn't last too long.

My sister blessed her baby on Easter Sunday down in Las Vegas. We were unable to attend it so we decided to find a few neighbors that were going to be around and we had our own Easter Dinner at our house. It was great to spend time with friends and not be alone. We were sad that we didn't get to make it to little 'Jims' blessing though!

We had a wonderful Ward Easter party and we were supposed to decorate hats beforehand to show off. I wasn't too excited about it, but then we found the girls hats at the dollar store and got the eggs and started glueing. The kids had fun and told me what they wanted on their hats. Henry knew exactly how he wanted his. It was great. He had a little cotton ball tail on the back as well. Katelyns was a bunny, it was adorable. Morgan loved her sparkly hat.

We had some special guests attend the party. They all had special needs and were very sweet. It was really a great experience for the kids to be around them and to interact with them. We got to bring one of the guests around to the different activites. It was a fun activity.
