Happy Halloween!

I look forward to the fall all year because we absolutely love doing this together as a family. We have a tradition like many others to go pumpkin picking. We have a cute one near us that has a hay maze for the kids to run through, it is cute to watch them.

This is NOT my favorite activity so I tried to make Jason do as much as possible, although I did have to do two pumpkins this year.

My sisters family spent Halloween with us and I made them some yummy Halloween shaped noodles. I think that I was more excited then the kids were.

Grandma Folsoms Funeral!

My dear sweet Grandma passed away on October 17, 2009 in American Fork, UT.

She was the best woman ever, and would give the shirt off her back for anyone. She was the best wife to my Grandpa, the best mother to my father, and the best Grandma to her grandkids. She was everyones best friend!
In a previous post I explained that my Grandma has had lung cancer for the past two years! She has been off and on with her treatments and so we have been able to spend a lot of time with her and go down to Utah Co. to visit. I was able to grow up in the same little town in Canada with her and it was so wonderful to have all my grandparents live so close and be able to spend so much time with them, yes I felt spoiled. It was very hard to see my Grandma get so sick near the end. We all loved her so much and were just praying to let her go because she didn't deserve to be in pain. It was so amazing to spend some time with all my family(Grandpa, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, etc.) before and after the funeral. What a wonderful bonding experience. I'm so glad to have been able to say goodbye to her before she passed away(or rather, see ya later). I have never felt the spirit so strong as when she was lying there in her last few minutes. What a wonderful feeling! We will miss her tons!
They had the funeral for Grandma in Utah Co. because all our family was able to make it down here and she is from Payson, UT so her siblings were all down here. But they did the burial and another little service up in Canada and I really felt like I needed to be there so Jason wanted to stay home with Henry and Morgan(didn't sound like fun hauling them 12hrs in a car and then back 12hrs a couple days later) for the weekend and he let Katelyn and I go up with my brother and his wife. Katelyn was soooo excited to go up to Canada for a girls trip. She got to see Grandpas cows and ride on the 4-wheelers, hot tubing, and stay up really late. She had a lot of fun.

I know it has been forever since I've updated my blog. We have been so incredibly busy with tons of things going on.

To start out, we have been busy with the first part of the soccer season for the kids. Henry started playing in the tiny tots league. He looks very cute and innocent in this picture, but he is fooling you because he wasn't not so happy to be out on the soccer field. He plays great at home and then you put him on a big field and fear overcomes the little guy. He did actually kick/touch the ball a couple times throughout the season though! What a milestone it was! Now that he has started preschool and doing more, maybe he will be a little less scared in the spring when they start up again. It was fun to watch him try!

He gets to play with some of his friends from the neighborhood so that is nice for him to know his teammates. What a crazy bunch of hooligans!
Henry got to go to the 'firestation' for a preschool field trip. He loves firetrucks but was a bit taken back with the big one he got to see. He loved it though!

Morgan likes to go on field trips too! She is one of the big kids now!

Canadian Thanksgiving!

Okay, so I do have to clarify one thing, I am a true Canadian but when you don't live in Canada you can celebrate the holidays whenever the heck you want! He He! Since the majority of my family was able to get together over conference weekend we decided to do it then, even though it isn't actually until the 12th of October(for all you smarties).

We went down to Price, UT for the weekend to visit my sister who moved there this summer from Chicago. It is so nice to have them so much closer. All my sisters were there with their kids and one brother came down for the day.

I was looking around for Morgan and this is where I found her. Aunt Tanya was filling her up on whipcream, I don't think that she minded though! Jesse, Jason, and Brian having a grand ol time!

The kids loved playing in the dirt and running wild. It was a nice weekend for playing outside, except on Sunday it rained all day.

Henry absolutely loved playing with Jacksons trains the whole time. He has grown up so much and just loved running around with his big boy cousins.

Ward Campout!

We had our Ward Campout on Sept. 25 and it was sooooo much fun! We had such a great turnout and the weather was great for this time of the year. Yes a bit chilly at night but could've been a lot worse. Here is Morgan and a little friend(Makayla Williams). Bawdens and Plowmans enjoying their food! =)
We had some fun little races for everyone the next morning! They all had a blast and it was fun watching all the different kinds of races that we did, ex. three legged, piggyback, wheelbarrow, crab walk, backwards, and different age groups, it was great.

Run Morgan run, thanks Jamie for the help. She had two pairs of pjs on so she couldn't really move all that fast! It was worth the try though!

They played hard the whole time, we let Katelyn sleep in a tent with four other girls and I'm not quite sure she got very much sleep! She had a blast though!

Visit from the Allreds!

Henry, Abby, Katelyn, and Grace! We were able to have some great friends stop by for a visit on Sept. 25. We met the Allreds when we lived in Boston and Jason and Reid went to law school together. It was so great to have them stop by for a little bit of catching up and letting the kids get to know one another better. Thanks Emily for thinking of me on your busy trip to see all your family!

Happy Birthday Grandma Folsom!

For the past two years my wonderful Grandma has been battling lung cancer! She has been so brave throughout this whole thing, but poor thing has gone down hill these past few weeks. She had a ton of fluid on her lungs so they drained it and it was not easy for her to get through, so they had to put her on oxygen and she is currently at her home in Utah County with the nurses checking on her daily. We were able to have her 77th birthday party on Sept. 19(actual birthday was Sept. 25) with her feeling a little bit better. It was so great to see her and reminise. She is such a wonderful lady whom I will always look up to. I was able to live very close to her while growing up and enjoyed spending tons of time with her.

For her birthday all the family wrote their memories down and we put them in a little book for her to read, she really appreciated it. Here is what I wrote:

Memories of Grandma Folsom!

I've been so lucky to have been able to grow up and live so close to my Grandparents. Grandma you have taught me so much! I absolutely love projects/crafts and I'm a firm believer that this is because of you and because you've been so patient and loving in the way that you have taken the time to teach me so much. I remember going to your house and helping you with your braided rugs, making pies, sewing projects, etc. You were always so much fun to visit and work with, because we would never go home hungry and you would always take the time to play games with us until we were worn out. You taught me to always keep busy and to love what I was working on. I was so greatful to have you and Grandpa come and visit us when we lived in Boston. What a wonderful one on one time we had together. It was fun showing you the city and the sites around. It was also so nice to be able to go to the temple with you. What a wonderful thing to know that no matter what happens, we will always have each other for eternity. One of my favorite trips to this day, was going down to California for your 50th Wedding Anniversary. It was so nice to be able to spend time with you guys. Thank you for your example with being such a faithful member of the church, and wife to your husband. It means a lot to see what a great marriage is all about, and to have that great example to look forward to. My kids have loved the time that they have had to visit you as well, they remember going down to your place and going swimming, also going to the petting zoo and out to lunch. It has been wonderful to see them interact and get to know their great grandparents, because you really are GREAT! My husband absolutely loves you as well, he mostly enjoys teasing with you and doesn't mean it seriously, so remember it's all out of love! Grandma, to this day I love to learn new projects and am eternally greatful for every moment that I have had to spend with you. You are amazing and such a great influence in my life, and I look forward to having my little family and myself make many more new memories with you!

My Grandpa has been so good to take care of my Grandma, all her life she has done so much for everyone else so now he is repaying her. What a wonderful example of sacrifice! He has always been so cute to watch as he playing with all the kids!
