Talent Show!

What a great night we had! I was so excited for our ward to finally have a talent show. We have now been in the ward for 4 years and this is the first talent show they've had. I love having funny little skits. This was called 'Primarys Got Talent' and since I am a primary teacher I got a few other teachers to join me in a little skit. We were called 'The out of towners' and we looked like little people with huge heads. We did a little dance and shook our knees(looked like the butt though) and got a lot of laughs, especially when the stuffing fell out of us. It was great. Katelyn had a dance performance the next day that she was going to miss, so she wanted to perform the dance that they had been working on. There are like 12 girls in her class so it was hard to do it with just the two of them, but they did great and tried their hardest.

Jason and Henry did a little skit called 'Stretchy Henry.' It was hilarious and I couldn't believe at how well Henry did. They only practiced a couple times and he was goofing off both times, but he did great and everyone loved it. Great view Jason!

Jasons legs were made to look like Henrys and they did some stretchys that were impossible if they were actually Henrys real legs. Henry would count as he held onto one leg, and then do it with the other. It was cute!

Our bishopric is great and they were also wonderful sports to allow this to happen to them. They were pretty much the ice cream and let the kids decorate them like an ice cream sunday. You name it, they got it dumped or stuck to them. Jason grabbed a caramel bottle and poured it on their heads and it got stuck in their ears, it was disgusting. I'm just glad that I didn't have to clean it off of me. Yucky!

Easter!

The kids were so excited to see what the Easter Bunny had brought them. I thought that it was Christmas because they were so excited. I tried not to do too much because I really want the kids to understand the true meaning of Easter and why we celebrate it. So don't worry, we did talk about it. Actually we asked the kids why we celebrate Easter and Henrys response was 'For Carters(his friend) moms Birthday.' She is his primary teacher and had just had a birthday, it was cute. We did correct him, sorry Becky it isn't all about you! I had gotten little skateboards after Thanksgiving and forgot about them, so this was a good opportunity to give them to the kids, then they each got a movie and a few other goodies.

Henry and Morgan got to go to a little neighborhood Easter egg hunt while Katelyn was still at school. Henry wasn't too happy when I told him he could only have 10 eggs, which explains the look on his face. Grumpy gus!

The kids were sooo excited to decorate eggs, they were very into it and wouldn't even stop to look at the camera. I wanted to go and roll them down a hill because we always used to do that growing up, but Jason ended up using them for deviled eggs. The kids were pretty mad at him, but they all Love deviled eggs so it didn't last too long.

My sister blessed her baby on Easter Sunday down in Las Vegas. We were unable to attend it so we decided to find a few neighbors that were going to be around and we had our own Easter Dinner at our house. It was great to spend time with friends and not be alone. We were sad that we didn't get to make it to little 'Jims' blessing though!

We had a wonderful Ward Easter party and we were supposed to decorate hats beforehand to show off. I wasn't too excited about it, but then we found the girls hats at the dollar store and got the eggs and started glueing. The kids had fun and told me what they wanted on their hats. Henry knew exactly how he wanted his. It was great. He had a little cotton ball tail on the back as well. Katelyns was a bunny, it was adorable. Morgan loved her sparkly hat.

We had some special guests attend the party. They all had special needs and were very sweet. It was really a great experience for the kids to be around them and to interact with them. We got to bring one of the guests around to the different activites. It was a fun activity.

Morgans 3rd Birthday!

This is a crazy time of year in our house with Birthdays right after one another. Morgan is now 3 years old and still the size of a 2 yr old and 18 month old in height and weight. When she is in trouble she'll still tell me, 'Morgan Tiny.' Morgan was sooo excited for it to be HER birthday! We counted down the sleeps, it was fun for her. We were going to have a party and then I decided I was partied out and she is still young to remember it, so next year we'll do a big party for her. That's the hard thing about having more kids, you just lose your energy and don't want to do as much. I guess since I was the 4th kid, I didn't get much then =). Morgan was so excited to be a big girl and have her turn to use the 'Special' plate. I wanted to make this day special and I had big plans to do fun things all day, but then when it was snowing constantly it kind of put a damper on things. So we played inside with toys most of the day, but I let Morgan choose where to go for lunch, she want Mc Donalds, so thats what we did. Even though it was her birthday, she did manage to get into trouble a couple times. She pooped in her undies, and also pulled every single article of clothing out of her dresser again. I was not too happy with this young lady. She was lucky that it was her Birthday! I think that Henry opened more presents than Morgan. He would tell her what each one was before she even saw it, silly boy.

Morgan is at such a fun age and absolutely loves playing with everything. She got a grocery cart w/ grocercies, doll bathtub, clothes, Tangled Doll, barbie, puppy, etc. She loved everything!

She had to blow a few times, but eventually she actually got the candle to blow out.

Powder Mountain!

What a spring break, or should I say 'Winter Break?' We have had so much snow this year, I'm beginning to think that I still live in Canada, although it hasn't been as cold as it gets up North, that's for sure. We got a great price on a time share for the week up at Powder Mountain, where neither one of us had gone before so Jason took Monday off and we went up for a few days. It was so much fun to get away and hang out. Although the packing part is not so much fun. We had both cars packed with food and belongings. Its amazing at how much one family needs for a few days. The kids had so much fun swimming, playing in the snow(Jason built the best snow fort for the kids - pic above - where they even ate lunch), skiing and just having fun. We had some friends come up for a night, so the kids loved being able to play with their friends. We ate sooo much food and watched General Conference. Katelyn and I even got to go skiing, which I hadn't done in over 8 years. It was easier than I thought it would be(sorry no big stunts for me though, I'm a mother now =) This was Katelyns 3rd time and she did really good. We had a good time, just us girls. The place wasn't huge, but it worked out alright. Morgan got to sleep in her very own closet and loved it. Haven slept in a chair against the wall. It was our 'tiny house' as Morgan called it. We came down off the Mt one afternoon and found a park for the kids to play on. I took the kids to the Treehouse Museum in Ogden on the way home and they had so much fun!

Katelyns 7th Birthday!

Kids grow up way too fast! Although, I am really looking forward to Katelyn growing up so that I will have my very own baby sitter! She can't wait either. She was soooo excited for her birthday to get here she could hardly sleep. Whenever its someones birthday they get to eat on the 'Special' plate. Henry helped me pick out some flowers for Katelyn and she was REALLY excited! I think that Morgan was just excited to play with Katelyns presents as she was. She got a Furr Real puppy, guitar, lots of clothes, Tangled movie and barbie, books, necklace with a 'K' on it, jerky(shes been loving it lately =), pogo stick, project activities, etc., and lots of money which she saved up to buy an American Girl Doll! She is one SPOILED girl.

I'm always talking about how much of a Helper Katelyn is, but it's because she is my little nanny. She absolutely loves to play with the kids and help out with the baby. She loves it when people tell her how helpful she is, and she loves to earn money for different jobs. We love Katelyn and are so glad that she had a great Birthday.

I wasn't going to have a party for her, but then changed my mind and let her have a few friends from school over. We tied cute ribbon and flowers on flip flops, did makeup and nails, and had a little runway modeling show. The girls had a blast and were so cute to watch! I couldn't do it on my own so I had a little help, thanks to Nancy and Emily, you were my life savers!

She got to pick out her very own icecream cake from Dairy Queen! The flip flops on it worked out great to go with the theme.

Laundry, and more Laundry!

Don't we all love to stay at home and do laundry every week? Well Henry looks forward to it and always wants me to dump it on him. I usually do the folding after the kids have gone to bed, but on this particular day, I made his day! If you couldn't tell in the above picture, then look below and you can see a little face in the pilie of clothes on the left hand side. Henry loves to be buried in the pile. Then along came Morgan after taking her nap and says 'I woke up...' Then she too decided to enjoy laundry day with Henry!

Havens Baby Blessing!

We had Havens Baby Blessing on March 20th and it was a very busy, but fun weekend. We were able to have Jasons dad and stepmom in town for the weekend. The kids were excited to spend time with them and to see all their cousins. One night we had Jasons parents, my parents, and two of my sisters families spend the night, so there were 21 people in 5 bedrooms. So I really do know what a FULL house is. The kids ABSOLUTELY loved every moment of it! We went to Kangaroo Zoo, out to dinner without kids(except babies), and a little shopping. It was great to have lots of family come on the day of the blessing as well.

For some reason I always seem to get really emotional whenever any of my kids are being blessed. I have so many emotions and thoughts running through my head, and I guess its because I'm SO very greatful to be able to have the chance to be a mom to such wonderful gifts from our Heavenly Father, and to have babies that are blessed with great health and strength. We have all had struggles in our lives and sicknesses and lost loved ones. One in particular that came to mind that day was when Jason said Havens middle name 'Jean' which is after my Grandma Folsom who passed away 1 1/2 years ago. I think that she had the chance to meet my little Haven before she came to earth, and it makes me so happy to know that she'll get to see her again someday! I love being a mom and spending so much time with my kids, although some days I may not enjoy as much, it is still very rewarding when they wrap their little arms around me and say 'I Love You,' or when they just want you to kiss their little owies better. It's GREAT to by a Mom!
